With its auspicious goal to produce competent and efficient human resource that can be instrumental in conservation and management of biodiversity, environment and natural resources and  development of rural communities, the IOF-PC, with the help of its enthusiastic teaching faculty and spirited staff, has always endeavored to ameliorate its academic environment and administer well designed educational programs that can address the current needs of the country  and the globe in forestry and allied fields. It is committed to satisfying student's quest for knowledge and pragmatic skills that will make all the difference in their professional career. The IOF-PC is currently running the following academic programs:

  1. Master of Science in Forestry
  2. Master of Science in Natural Resource Management and Rural Development (NRMRD)
  3. Master of Science in Watershed Management (WM)
  4. Master of Science in Community Forestry (CF)
  5. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Forestry

Beside regular academic programs, it also conducts short-term national and international training and workshops in Forestry and allied subjects.

PRT PREPARATORY VISIT

The peer review team (PRT), coordinated by Prof. Dr. Surya Kant Ghimire and member Mr. Gopal Acharya from QAAD, UGC accomplished a preparatory assessment visit at IOF Pokhara from 17 to 19 March 2021 (4-6 Chaitra, 2077). PRT performed formal and informal interactions with different stakeholders and physical verification against the submitted self-study report (SSR) of the campus. The visit program started with a formal welcome followed by a presentation on highlights of the SSR by SAT coordinator Dr. Thakur Silwal. And it was ended with a formal exit meeting where the PRT coordinator presented the review report with gratifying remarks on the campus for its sound infrastructure and academic environment. He also pointed issues to improve and reflect in the SSR.  Prof. Dr. Bir Bahadur Khanal Chhetri, Dean, IOF/TU expressed his happiness and gratitude for the visit and committed to help the campus incorporating the issues put forward by the team. Campus chief Prof. Binod Prasad Heyojoo expressed sincere thanks to the PRT for their meticulous review of the SSR and constructive recommendations. The campus is committed to work as per the recommendation and submit the updated SSR soon.

Finally, the campus expresses thanks to all participants including PRT, Dean, Asst. Deans, Campus Management Committee members, IQAC members, SAT committee, faculty, staff, and students for their active participation and constructive inputs during the review process.
