With its auspicious goal to produce competent and efficient human resource that can be instrumental in conservation and management of biodiversity, environment and natural resources and  development of rural communities, the IOF-PC, with the help of its enthusiastic teaching faculty and spirited staff, has always endeavored to ameliorate its academic environment and administer well designed educational programs that can address the current needs of the country  and the globe in forestry and allied fields. It is committed to satisfying student's quest for knowledge and pragmatic skills that will make all the difference in their professional career. The IOF-PC is currently running the following academic programs:

  1. Master of Science in Forestry
  2. Master of Science in Natural Resource Management and Rural Development (NRMRD)
  3. Master of Science in Watershed Management (WM)
  4. Master of Science in Community Forestry (CF)
  5. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Forestry

Beside regular academic programs, it also conducts short-term national and international training and workshops in Forestry and allied subjects.

Virtual Celebration of 39th Anniversary

Institute of Forestry, Pokhara Campus celebrated its 39th anniversary on Ashwin 6, 2077 with an interaction on “Forestry Education in Nepal: Past and Present.” The programme was chaired by Prof. Binod Prasad Heyojoo, Campus chief, and facilitated by Dr. Bishnu Prasad Devkota, Asst. Campus Chief, with Prof. Dr. Krishna Raj Tiwari, the Dean of the IOF, as the chief guest. Due to the pandemic Covid-19, the IOFPC hosted the program at ZOOM involving former Deans, Campus Chiefs, teachers, administrative staff and students. Mr. Surya B Chhettri briefed the past and present of Pokhara Campus. Mr. Arjun Prasad Shrestha, former senior librarian, presented his experience and views on IOF Library Development. Prof. Dr. Abhoy K. Das, former Dean, Dr. Madhav B. Karki and.Prof. Dr. Ridish K. Pokharel, both former campus chiefs, and Dr. Krishna R. Tiwari, Dean, IOF, and IOF/PC alumni Mr. Gopal P. Upadyaya (Ex-Director General of DNPWC) and Mr.Bijaya Raj Paudyal (Ex-Director General of DSCWM highlighted different discourses of forestry education in current context and suggested for regular revision of curricula (through the IOF Dean’s Office) based on the need of the government, priority of market and inputs of stakeholders. This will pave the way of the IOF/Pokhara Campus to getting recognized as a center of excellence in forestry education.

Prof. Heyojoo concluded the program, thanking all the speakers and participants for their valuable time and suggestions and requesting all the stakeholders to provide their feedback to enhance quality of education at Pokhara campus.
