With its auspicious goal to produce competent and efficient human resource that can be instrumental in conservation and management of biodiversity, environment and natural resources and  development of rural communities, the IOF-PC, with the help of its enthusiastic teaching faculty and spirited staff, has always endeavored to ameliorate its academic environment and administer well designed educational programs that can address the current needs of the country  and the globe in forestry and allied fields. It is committed to satisfying student's quest for knowledge and pragmatic skills that will make all the difference in their professional career. The IOF-PC is currently running the following academic programs:

  1. Master of Science in Forestry
  2. Master of Science in Natural Resource Management and Rural Development (NRMRD)
  3. Master of Science in Watershed Management (WM)
  4. Master of Science in Community Forestry (CF)
  5. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Forestry

Beside regular academic programs, it also conducts short-term national and international training and workshops in Forestry and allied subjects.

GIS Training Week-2076

Free Student’s Union, IOF, Pokhara Campus has successfully organized “GIS Training Week-2076” on 2nd -7th Baisakh, 2076 to the students of Bsc Forestry 3rd year of IOF, Pokhara Campus. 35 students participated in the training.The objective of the training was to enrich student’s knowledge regarding application of GIS in the forestry and the allied field

The training encompassed the procedure for installation of GIS to concept of projection, transformation and georefrencing, from GPS setting familiarization to operation of  Google earth and KML layer. The participants were given the task of IOF, Pokhara Campus boundary survey using GPS. Participants were trained to work with shapefiles  and attribute tables, division of compartment using QGIS and preparation of suitability map. Similarly, the participants were trained about the techniques of sampling in scientific forest management, import sample plot coordinates into GPS, Stem Mapping and Mother Tree selection using GIS and layout of fireline. The participants were taken to Scientific Forest in Tananhun as a field visit to familiarize them with the concept of Scientific forest management, Mother tree selection and several other managerial aspects.

On the last day the participants were divided into 3 groups and given the presentation task which was evaluated by Asst. Professor Mr. Raju Raj Regmi and Asst. professor Mr. Mahendra Thapa. Miss Aarti karki representing Group A presented on topic “Preparation of Boundary, Feature nd Location Map on Arc GIS of Durga CF, Baitadi,  Mr. Saroj Kandel representing Goup B presented on topic “Boundary area, sample plot of Banpale Danda and show in google” and Miss Ashmita pandey representing Group C presented on topic “Land Use map of 2018 of Bardiya”. The closing ceremony and certificate distribution was conducted in the presence of IOF, Dean Prof. Dr. Krishna raj Tiwari as a chief guest. The closing ceremony was attended by IOF, Pokhara Campus Chief Mr. Prem Narayan Khanal and Mr Bishnu Hari Wagle, secretary of Pardhyapak Sangh.

We had Mr. Sujan Khanal as Chief trainer who is also a Master undergraduate in IOF, Pokhara Campus. Similarly, we had Mr. Saroj Panthi. Mr. Nawaraj Shahi, Mr. Aviral Neupane and Mr. Pradip Subedi as our trainer. The programme was supported by IOF, Pokhara Campus.
